Hanif, KiD, Han, Niph, Kakek (translation: wiseman ^_^), Bon, Skill, you-name-it; anything that refers to the coolest guy in planet Earth -- so if you're looking for the official blog of Matthew Fox, lemme be the first to congratulate you coz you've come to the right place!! ^o^ hehee,,

		My name is Hanif Adinugroho Widyanto, a final-year undergrad student at President University, Jababeka, majoring in International Business study. I was born at St. Boromeous Hospital, Bandung, on October 23, 1987. In the early years of my life, my father got a scholarship to continue his master's at Curtin University so our family moved and lived at Perth, Australia for about 3 1/2 years. That's when my brother born. I remember that I was just a couple of months away before I celebrated my 5th b'day when we returned to Indonesia. Having spent the year after at my granny's house at Tebet, our family finally settled (until today) at a decent house in Melati Mas Residence, Serpong, Tangerang. My educational background from kindergarten until junior high school was dominated with one name: Al-Azhar BSD. I had such fond memories back then, but it was when I finally got accepted at Taruna Nusantara Senior High School, a semi-military boarding school at Magelang, Central Java, that my life hit its critical u-turn and started to drastically change. I started to realize and identify my 'purpose' as a person in this ever-competitive life, a Moslem in such a changing society, and an Indonesian in a globalized era. Today, I'm currently working on my thesis regarding "Analysis of Major Due Diligence Determinants to Attract Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) on Toll-Road Public Private Partnerships (PPP) Projects" , which has completely drained my very-limited-capacity-when-it-comes-to-doing-thesis brain, to the extent where I'd rather sleep than working on it (huhuuu,, lousy procrastinator me as always,, I know T_T). On the other hand, I'm also involved with the "International Symposium in Commemoration of 100 Years of National Awakening Day" in Berlin, Germany; an international event which is hosted and organized by my friends at the Indonesian Student Association (PPI) in Germany. This blog is just a snapshot of my life's chronicle, and while "I" am naturally gonna be the dominant 'force' in this blog, but my story could also be about you. About the challenging yet amusing life that I always cherish and adore (and hate sometimes ^^;). About every step that I have to take, decisions that I have to make, options and alternatives that I've got to choose (sometimes at a spur-of-the-moment notice!!). But mostly, it's about life in general and how I put things into perspective. This could easily be my story, but one in which (hopefully) you could relate and share with me and the rest of the readers. Internship, 2007, and Resolution

Now that 2007 is just minutes away from its end, I’d like to reflect a bit on my life so far. Well, at this point in time, there’s not much to say about my present being since it’s holiday and all, so I pretty much revolving around the same routines every day. It’s any between surfing my social-networking accounts (friendster and facebook), blogging, going to Joe’s for a good Winning Eleven time with my friends, watching movies in nearby 21 theater or simply downloading TV-series torrents and youtube vids off the internet, or sometimes wandering around malls for window-shopping. But there’s always this major concern that has successfully preoccupied me during holiday that I just simply can’t get it off my head: my Internship placement.

Well, it’s only some time ago that I came to realize that once January kicks off, I’d no longer deserve my peaceful holiday (what? come again…?!!) since the eighth semester will officially commence and that I should’ve started my anticipated internship by then. Oh, and by “then”, I mean the day after tomorrow (1/2)…!! But that’s just the tip of the iceberg I’d say cause the real problem is: I can’t even see the damn iceberg!! What I’m saying is that, I don’t even know yet where I’d go for my internship, and the state of being in the dark really frustrates me. Big time. Even my laid-back (although determined) dorm roommate, Aldo, has already got a well-paid job at Mega Bank (in case you’re wondering: yes, an actual job, not an internship), and most of my friends have already gotten their internship placements in various companies and institutions in the Greater Jakarta. This condition has pretty much put me in a rather uncomfy disposition and I really need to put an end to this. But wait, I DON’T have the privilege to decide such bargain!! I’m in the “now waiting” mode now!!

So far, there’re two major prospects that are currently “up in the air” for my internship placement. The first of which comes from a major multinational company in a place far away from here: Nestlé Lampung. I just learned couple of hours ago that their HR has already sent me an e-mail (finally) notifying that I should send an immediate reply regarding my internship schedules so that I could start my internship right away. But here’s the tight corner: only several days ago, my father introduced me to a friend of his who is currently working on a Public Private Partnership (P3) program with the National Development Agency (BAPPENAS) and (most likely) could provide me an internship placement under the agency. What really gets into me is that the program is very much related to my major, International Business. Thus, there’s a good chance that I might use the program as my topic for thesis. However, I wouldn’t know whether I actually get the placement or not until January 2nd 2008, when offices return for business. For the time being, I just cross my fingers and pray to God for the best.

To finish off, I’d like to shout out a HAPPY NEW YEAR 2008 for all of you!! Wish y’all the best this coming year. With any luck, may we all get what we want this year ahead; just don’t expect too much ^_^; My resolution for 2008? Hmm… Successful internship period, perfect thesis, outstanding graduation (wish me luck!!), Post-graduate scholarship abroad (OMG, please please!!), and last but not least: Love of my Life… (where are you?? I’m one desperate “jomblo”!! :P)

Blogging Resolution!!!

Q: "What is blogging to me? Why did I blog in the first place?"
A: ". . ."

Err,,, honestly, I don’t know.

I just feel like it’d be great if I could have a place to flee from my everyday routines; where I could literally share all of my stories and interests and express my ideas without being snubbed at even when I’m beating around the bush and wandering around the topic just to prove a point. Cause somehow, even my close friends find me as an overly talkative person who doesn't have the habit of getting to the point at once. Hint: I AM FULLY AWARE of it. It’s just that, I can’t help myself for wanting to be specific and thorough at the same time when explaining something. Is it wrong? Well, it might take a bit more time and all, but I clear things up better this way, don’t I? Or am I just self-justifying myself? ^_^; Either way, that‘s why I started blogging, I guess…

Speaking of which, I’ve so far detached myself from talking about "hard topics" in my blog, despite the fact that I’m always partial to the discussion regarding international geopolitics and geo-strategies issues; especially when it concerns global economic order (sounds sophisticated and intricate, don’t you think? that makes the two of us then :P). It’s not that I’m totally eliciting those matters from this blog; rather, I’d prefer to have a personal blog with light, run-of-the-mill topics about my interests, hobbies, activities, and the like in which readers could relate themselves. But, then again, seriously? Well… to be honest, I haven’t really decided the course of this blog anyway. I only blog now and then and I’m really fed up with my own commitment to blogging. Having said that, starting from now on, I think I wouldn’t mind discussing about literally any kind of topics in this blog, including the “hard” ones, as long as I enjoy writing it. Besides, that’s what blogging is all about anyway, isn’t it? The experience of conveying our ideas without restraint to the rest of the world. *smirking*

Well, I just think that I really need to point this out (and pretend like anyone would care :P) so that I could have an idea of where I would go on with this blog. Sometimes, I often have these kinda inventive ideas to be put on the blog, like having features such as “Review of The Week”, “Recommendation of the Week”, or simply sharing my concerns on current issues that might affect our lives personally (e.g. the rise of oil price, inflation, global warming, etc.). Perhaps by then I could better relate to any visitors or readers of my blog. I guess it’s settled then. Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome, the all-new KID’s LIFE: Revealed!!

Moments of 2007

2007 is one of the most challenging years in my life. There's no way that I'm gonna forget all the best and worst moments of the year, and I'm not planning to do so. Throughout the year, despite my lack of commitment in posting my blogs, I always keep record of my journey and experiences through my phone's 3.2-MP camera. What about me?!

Earlier this morning, I woke up with an edgy feeling for no clear reason whatsoever. Well, to be honest, things may have gotten somewhat disorderly the last few weeks, but somehow I didn’t see those as the very r

eason to explain my unsettled mood. Rather, I feel like there’s this uneasy feeling that I just can’t explain, and I’d kill to know why. There’s only one thing I knew for sure: my body’s all stiffed and sore because of last evening’s futsal, and I had to limp to wander around thanks to some minor injuries in my feet. It sucks. However, turns out it didn’t take me ages to figure out the very reason behind such discomfort.

Perhaps the most palpable answer has a lot to do with the fact that it’s December 27th already, yet I haven’t found a place for my second internship, which is scheduled to start by the beginning of next year. And January is drawing closer at an even hasty rate than ever before. My bad. What can I say? It’s always been like this: final-hour regret all thanks to my indolence or rather, reluctance to start finding the place for internship since months ago. But thank God there’s hope in Nestlé Lampung, which may be far-off but I’m sure gonna worth it – IF, I get accepted. Just cross your fingers for me ok?! ^__^;
